Section 18
Vice-Chancellor
(1) The Vice-Chancellor shall be the principal officer working full-time in the University.
(2) A committee consisting of two members of the Assembly under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor will be formed from the Chancellor to submit a recommendation for the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor of the University and on the recommendation of that committee, the Vice-Chancellor will be appointed by the Chancellor.
(3) The tenure of the Vice-Chancellor shall be four years. His remuneration, facilities and other conditions of service will be as prescribed.
(4) The Vice-Chancellor shall have general control over all the work activities of the University and he may direct and supervise the work activities of the University.
(5) The Vice-Chancellor shall execute the decisions and instructions of the assembly.
(6) In the absence of both the Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor will preside over the university assembly and convocation ceremony.
(7) The Vice-Chancellor shall perform such other functions as are specified in this Act or the rules made under this Act to be performed by any agency or officer. The Vice-Chancellor should inform the Vice-Chancellor of such work immediately and get approval from the next meeting of the Assembly.
(8) Other duties, duties and powers of the Vice-Chancellor shall be as prescribed.
