Section 33
Koot system
Landowners should not share or take Koot contract from Mohi to share the crop that exceeds half of the main annual crop of the land. But–
(a) Landowners who own land in the Kathmandu Valley shall not collect from Mohi more than the following rate of the main annual production of that land. Khet Pakho Awal Ropani 1 of 1.3. .10.1 of Dwayam Ropani 1 .18.6 .7.2 of Seam Ropani 1 .13. .4.3 Chahar Ropani 1 of .8.5 .2.7
(b) When this section commences, if the share of the crop is taken at a lower rate than that, or a contract is taken, the same lower rate shall be maintained. At that reduced rate, the land owner should not take a share of the crop from Mohi or take a contract.
(c) The Government of Nepal may determine the average of the main annual crop based on the type of land and crop for the land or the land in a specified area and on the basis of that average, may determine 50 percent of the main annual crop to be paid to the land owner by Mohi in accordance with this section. After the quota is determined accordingly, the quota should be taken every year accordingly. Explanation:- For the purposes of this section, the amount to be taken based on the type of land shall be as written in the certificate of Mohiani rights or the temporary certificate of title given in accordance with this Act and the rules made under this Act.
