(1) In accordance with Section 6 and Rule 5 of the Act, the owner of privately owned land that has been determined to be cultivated by adopting the land use system may transfer his ownership to the Government of Nepal after receiving compensation. In this way, the land owner who wants to give up his ownership must submit an application to the Watershed Protection Officer, attaching the area, boundaries and the certificate of ownership of such land for the purpose of determining the compensation. (2) After receiving the application according to sub-rule (1), the watershed protection officer shall determine the compensation for the land taking into account the prevailing price and send it in writing to the department for issuing the compensation for the land. (3) Sub-rule (2) After receiving a written request for withdrawal, if the department deems it necessary, it should be re-examined and the withdrawal should be given as soon as possible.
