Section 7
Daily and Visiting Allowance
(1) Officials of constitutional bodies shall be given daily and visiting allowance as follows when visiting Nepal ………… in connection with their official duties:-
(a) Daily Allowance: One hundred and sixty five rupees per day for chief officials and one hundred and forty rupees per day for officials.
(b) Visiting Allowance: (1) When visiting on foot, twenty-five rupees per person for chief officials and fifteen rupees per person for officials.
(2) Fare for one person when traveling by bus.
(3) When traveling by train, a chief official will be charged a first class ticket in places with air condition and a first class ticket in places without air condition and a first class ticket for the official.
(4) Ticket expenses for one person when traveling by air.
(5) Fares for one person when traveling by other vehicles.
(2) Officials of constitutional bodies to participate in official work or in any ceremony, festival, conference, etc. on behalf of the Government of Nepal. Daily and visiting allowance will be given as follows while visiting abroad:-
(a) Daily allowance: (1) One hundred US dollars in all other Asian countries except Japan, South Korea and the Philippines. But in case of India, daily allowance shall be given in Indian currency equivalent to such change in foreign currency. (2) One hundred and twenty five US dollars in all other countries including Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.
(b) Visiting Allowance: (1) Motor fare as per the bill charged to one person when traveling by motor.
(2) When traveling by train, a chief official will be charged for a first class ticket in places with air condition and in places without air condition and first class ticket for officials. (3) When visiting by airplane, the business class ticket cost for one person for the chief official and the economy class ticket cost for one person for the official.
(4) Expenditure according to the bill incurred by one person while traveling by waterway.
(5) When an official of a constitutional body goes on an official visit outside Nepal as a guest of a foreign country, he/she will receive a daily allowance at the rate of half of the daily allowance received according to clause (a) of sub-section (2) as long as he/she stays in that country.
