Unless the subject or context requires otherwise, in this Act,-

(a) “University” means Pokhara University established as per section 3.

(b) "Assembly" shall mean the University Assembly as per Section 7.

(c) "Academic Council" shall mean the Academic Council as per Section 10.

(d) "Executive Council" shall mean shall mean the Executive Council as per Section 12.

(e) “Service Commission” shall mean the Service Commission as per Section 14.

(f) “Faculty” shall mean the Faculty as per Section 15

(g) "Research Center" means the research center as per section 16.

(h) "Academic Council" means the academic council as per section 17.

(i) “Dean” shall mean the head of the faculty.

(j) “Campus” shall mean the physical campus of the University and the term shall also refer to the campus affiliated to the University.

(k) "Teacher" means professors, associate professors, deputy professors and assistant professors who provide education in the university or are involved in research work and the term also refers to instructors at different levels of the university and the person designated as a teacher in the rules made under this Act.
