Section 26
Formation of the Council
(1) A conciliation council shall be constituted as follows for the regular improvement, modification, regulation and control of the procedures for resolving disputes through conciliation:
(a) A sitting Judge of the Supreme Court appointed by the Chief Justice on the recommendation of the Council of Justice - President
(b) Secretary, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs – Member
(c) Secretary, Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development – Member
(d) Deputy Attorney General, Office of the Attorney General – Member
(e) General Secretary, Nepal Bar Association – Member
(f) One member appointed by the Council from among the representatives of the trade unions working in the field of industry and commerce (g) Conciliators or representatives of organizations involved in reconciliation or two women members appointed by the Council from among those working in the field of reconciliation. (h) Two members, including at least one woman, appointed by the council from among the representatives of social workers and civil society. (i) Registrar, Supreme Court – Member – Secretary
(2) The term of office of the members under clauses (f), (g) and (h) of sub-section (1) shall be three years.
(3) The Secretariat of the Council shall be in the Supreme Court.
(4) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (3), the secretariat of the Council may be kept elsewhere unless there is a suitable location in the Supreme Court.
