Article 182
Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly

(1) Within fifteen days from the date of commencement of the first meeting of the Provincial Assembly, the members of the Provincial Assembly shall elect the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly from among themselves.
(2) During the election according to sub-section (1), one of the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly or the Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly shall be a woman and the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly or the Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly shall be a representative of different parties. However, in the case that more than one party is not represented in the Provincial Assembly, or in the event that it is not represented, there is no obstacle for a member of the same party to be the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly or Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly.
(3) If the post of Provincial Speaker or Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly becomes vacant, the members of the Provincial Assembly shall elect from among themselves to fill the post of Provincial Speaker or Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly.
(4) In the absence of the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, the Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly shall preside over the Provincial Assembly (5) In the event that there is no election of the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly or Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly or both positions are vacant, the senior member in terms of age will preside over the meeting of the Provincial Assembly.
(6) The post of Provincial Speaker or Provincial Deputy Speaker shall be vacant in any of the following cases:-
(a) If he is not a member of the Provincial Assembly, but in the event of the dissolution of the Provincial Assembly, the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and the Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly who are in office shall remain in office until the day before filing nominations for the next election for the Provincial Assembly.
(b) if he resigns in writing,
(c) If the resolution that he has not behaved in accordance with the position is passed by a two-thirds majority of the total number of members of the Provincial Assembly.
(7) The Deputy Speaker of the Province will preside over the meeting to discuss the proposal that the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly has not behaved in a manner appropriate to the position. The speaker of the provincial assembly will be allowed to participate and vote in the discussion of such a proposal.
