(1) If the wife of a male police employee is about to give birth, such employee shall be entitled to take maternity leave for fifteen days before or after the delivery of the wife.
(2) Maternity care leave can be taken only twice during the service period.
(3) Police personnel on maternity leave will get full pay, allowances and rations.
(4) Police personnel who have taken maternity care leave must submit the child's birth certificate to the center within three months from the date of taking leave.
(5) If the police employee does not submit the certificate within the period as per sub-rule (4), such period shall be deducted from the other leave he is entitled to.
(6) Police personnel who are on maternity leave and maternity care leave will be given a lump sum child care allowance of five thousand rupees per person for a maximum of two children.
