Rule 22
Juvenile Justice Coordinating Committee

(1) There shall be a Juvenile Justice Coordinating Committee as follows to coordinate between various bodies related to Juvenile Justice:-

(2) According to clause (h) of sub-rule (1), the term of office of the nominated member shall be two years and he may be re-appointed.
(3) Other procedures related to the meeting of the committee shall be as determined by the committee itself.
(4) According to the sub-rule (1), the committee may invite the person concerned with Juvenile Justice to the meeting of the committee.
(5) The work, duties and powers of the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Committee shall be as follows:-
(a) Giving necessary suggestions and advice to the Government of Nepal for the legal and policy arrangements necessary for the strengthening and development of the juvenile justice system,

(b) National and international associations working in the field of child rights and juvenile justice system in Nepal. Coordinating between programs,
(c) Conduct a capacity building program to inform the government and non-governmental individuals and organizations working in agencies involved in the administration of juvenile justice about the new approaches and programs developed in the context of juvenile justice in order to conduct juvenile justice administration quickly and efficiently.
(d) To request the Government of Nepal to include the subject of child rights and juvenile justice in the curriculum of schools, universities and other educational institutions in Nepal,
(e) To supervise and manage the level of services and works performed by agencies involved in juvenile justice administration.
(6) In order to carry out the activities of the committee smoothly, the Government of Nepal may, on the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission, appoint high-level employees of the Nepal Justice Service to work as the secretariat of the committee. The employee appointed in this way will do work related to juvenile justice administration and his other work, duties, rights and facilities will be as prescribed by the committee.
