(1) The Government of Nepal shall classify the land as follows for proper utilization of the land:-
(a) Agricultural sector
(b) Residential Area
(c) Professional Sector
(d) Industrial Area
(e) Mines and mineral sector
(f) Building materials (stone, sand, gravel) mining area
(g) Areas of cultural and archaeological importance
(h) Riverine and Lake Talainya Area
(i) Forest area
(j) Public use (open and other) areas
(k) Risk Zone
(l) Other areas as specified.
(2) According to sub-section (1), the Government of Nepal shall classify the land on the basis of public interest and geological structure, nature, capacity and existing use of the land. .
(3) After classifying the land according to sub-section (1), the designated authority shall publish a public notice of the land under which classification.
(4) The concerned body shall conduct the land use program under the policy approved by the Government of Nepal.
