(1) The authority to accept the resignation of the following police personnel shall be vested in the following officer:-
(a) Gazetted First Class Police Officer – Government of Nepal
(b) Gazetted police officers upto Grade II – Chief
(2) If a police officer below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police or below has reached the pensionable service period and has been in the same post for at least twelve years, if one month is left for mandatory retirement according to Rule 71, he will be promoted one level and retired.
(3) The Chief shall have the authority to issue letters of resignation to police personnel.
