Article 92
Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly

(1) The members of the National Assembly shall elect the President and Vice-President of the National Assembly from among themselves within fifteen days from the date of commencement of the first meeting of the National Assembly.
(2) During the election according to sub-section (1), one of the Speaker and Vice-President of the National Assembly shall be a woman.
(3) If the post of Speaker or Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly becomes vacant, the members of the National Assembly shall elect the Speaker or Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly from among themselves to fill the vacancy.
(4) In the absence of the President of the National Assembly, the Vice President of the National Assembly shall preside over the National Assembly (5) In the event that there is no election of the President and Vice President of the National Assembly or the position is vacant, the senior member in terms of age will preside over the meeting of the National Assembly.
(6) In any of the following cases, the post of Speaker or Vice-President of the National Assembly shall become vacant:-
(a) If he is not a member of the National Assembly,
(b) if he resigns in writing,
(c) If the resolution that he has not behaved in accordance with the position is passed by two-thirds majority of the total number of members of the National Assembly.
(7) The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly will preside over the meeting to discuss the proposal that the President of the National Assembly has not behaved in a manner befitting his position. The Speaker of the National Assembly will be allowed to participate and vote in the discussion of such proposal.
