Article 259
Work, Duties and Powers of National Inclusion Commission
: (1)(a) Khas Arya, Backward Classes, Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, Workers, Farmers, Minorities and Marginalized Communities and Backward Classes and Karnali and Economically Disadvantaged Classes etc. To study and research for the protection of the rights of the community,
(b) Studying the implementation status of the policies and laws adopted by the Government of Nepal for the inclusion of the communities, classes and regions mentioned in Clause (a) and giving suggestions to the Government of Nepal for improvement,
(c) To suggest to the Government of Nepal to review the special arrangements made for the representation of such communities, classes and areas after studying whether the communities, classes and areas mentioned in clause (a) have been properly represented in the state system,
(d) Study whether the protection, empowerment and development of the communities, classes and areas mentioned in section (a) are satisfactory and make recommendations to the Government of Nepal regarding the policy to be adopted in the future,
(e) To give suggestions to the Government of Nepal regarding the policies and programs to be adopted for the development and prosperity of Karnali and backward areas,
(f) Recommending timely amendments to laws relating to minorities and marginalized communities,
(g) Monitoring the status of the implementation of guaranteed rights for minorities and marginalized communities and making necessary reviews and recommendations for amendments based on the reports on the National Census and Human Development Index that are conducted periodically.
(2) The National Inclusion Commission may delegate any of its functions, duties and powers to the Chairman of the Commission, any member or any employee of the Government of Nepal, subject to the prescribed conditions.
(3) Other work, duties, rights and other arrangements of the National Inclusion Commission shall be in accordance with the federal law.
