(1) According to the Ordinance, if an investigating officer needs to request any mutual legal assistance from a foreign state to assist in the investigation or prosecution of any crime, the details mentioned in Section 14 of the Ordinance shall be disclosed in the format as per Schedule-2. A request should be made before the central authority.
(2) If a court orders to request any mutual legal assistance from a foreign state to assist in the course of judicial proceedings, the relevant court shall make a request to the central authority in the format as per Schedule-3 to disclose the details mentioned in section 14 of the Ordinance.
(3) If the central authority receives a request according to sub-rule (1) or (2), the details mentioned in section 14 and 15 of the Ordinance shall be submitted to the relevant foreign state through diplomatic channels in the format as per schedule-4.
(4) When requesting mutual legal assistance according to sub-rule (3), if the law of the respective foreign state provides for any specific conditions, the central authority shall also comply with such conditions.
