Rule 4
Public Prosecutor's Office and Territorial Jurisdiction

(1) The following offices will remain as public prosecutor's office:-
(a) Attorney General's Office, (b) High Public Prosecutor's Office, (c) Special Public Prosecutor's Office, (d) District Public Prosecutor's Office.
(2) The office of the Attorney General will be located in Kathmandu.
(3) There will be departments designated by the Attorney General in the office of the Assistant Attorney General to manage the work of the Attorney General's Office and the subordinate Public Prosecutor's Office in an orderly manner.
(4) In each department, the Deputy Attorney General appointed by the Attorney General shall be the head of the department.
(9) There will be various divisions, branches and centers under the department.
(6) Except as otherwise provided in this regulation, the departmental head and division of work of divisions, branches and centers as per sub-rule (5) shall be as mentioned in the procedures approved by the Attorney General.
(7) Every High Court and its Bench shall have a High Public Prosecutor's office.
(8) Where there is a special court, there will be a special public prosecutor's office.
(5) In each district where the District Court is located, there will be a District Public Prosecutor's Office under the territorial jurisdiction of the relevant High Public Prosecutor's Office. (10) There will be a required number of public prosecutors and other employees based on the workload and the work to be done in the public prosecutor's office.
