7. Objectives

The objectives of the tourism policy will be as follows:-

(a) By diversifying and expanding the tourism sector, creating self-employment among ordinary citizens and improving their standard of living by linking para-tourism and rural tourism with poverty alleviation. To promote the tourism industry and develop it as the main base of the national economy,
(b) To develop Nepal as an attractive and major tourist destination by discovering, protecting, promoting and developing tangible and intangible natural, cultural, biological and man-made heritages of the country,
(c) Developing, expanding and promoting the tourism sector through accessible, safe, reliable and regular air and land transport,
(d) To protect the environment while using natural resources and resources during the development and construction of tourism infrastructure.
