4. Policy

The following policy will be adopted to achieve the above objectives

4.1. Integrating the planned development of science and technology with the overall development process of the country, 4.2. Supporting poverty alleviation programs through the development of science and technology, 4.3. Using science and technology as a powerful tool to increase the production and productivity of the nation, 4.4. Emphasizing the concept of sustainable development, management of natural resources and environmental protection in the highest development of science and technology, in planning and implementation, 4.5. In the field of science and technology, by enhancing mutual cooperation and coordination with bilateral, multilateral, regional and international bodies, creating an environment for the maximum use of knowledge and skills related to science and technology available in the regional and international world, 4.6. Making the private sector participate in the development of science and technology, 4.7. To contribute significantly to the development of science and technology through organizations and public participation related to science and technology, 4.8. Substituting imports by promoting the production of quality exportable goods through the use of science and technology, 4.9. Producing and deploying skilled manpower in the field of science and technology, 4.10. 4.11. Giving priority to the development, expansion, deployment and utilization of local technology resources and tools. 4.11. The Government of Nepal will play the role of facilitator, promoter and coordinator for the development and expansion of all sectors involved in the development and utilization of the science and technology sector, 4.12. Streamlining the aspects of import and replacement of necessary technology, 4.13. To create an environment in which domestic scientists and experts can play a maximum role in the process of all-round national development, 4.14. To maintain the high morale of scientists and experts, to attract internationally renowned Nepali scientists abroad and to reduce talent flight.To prepare a suitable environment for development, 4.15 To connect university level study teaching with research related to science and technology. 4.16 To provide quality education related to science and technology right from the primary level.
