In this Act, unless the subject or the context otherwise requires,–
(a) Health worker" means a person registered with the concerned council as a health worker according to the prevailing law.
(b) "Health Institution" means Government of Nepal, Provincial Government: or - Government Hospital operated by the local level, Non-Government Hospital, Private Hospital, Co-operative Hospital, Non-Profit Hospital, Community Hospital, Teaching Hospital or any other health institution established in accordance with prevailing laws or operating with permission; The term also refers to a holding center, quarantine, isolation or other similar place operated for the prevention, control, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.
(c) "Security" means health workers, employees working in health institutions and other financial and other security provided for health institutions in accordance with this Act.
(d) "Ministry" means the Ministry of Health and Population (e) "Committee" means the Health Workers and Health Institution Safety Coordination Committee as per Section 5.
(f) "Fund" shall mean health workers and health institutions protection fund as per section 12.
(g) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
