Unless the subject or context requires otherwise, in this Act, –

(a) “University” means Kathmandu University established in accordance with this Act.

(b) "Assembly" shall mean the University Assembly as per Section 4.

(c) "Executive Council" shall mean the Executive Council as per Section 6.

(d) "Academic Council" shall mean It shall mean the academic council as per section 8.

(e) “Dean” shall mean the head of the various faculties established under the university.

(f) “School” shall mean the programs of each faculty of the university. (g) "College" means an educational institution affiliated to a university.

(h) "Principal" means the principal of a college.

(i) “Prescribed” or “as prescribed” means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
