Rule 8
Promotion

Substantial promotion from time period will be as follows:- From Sub-Commander to Com-Commander- After completing 2 years of satisfactory service and passing Technical Vesic Training. From Co-Servicemen to Servicemen – If there is a vacancy after completing 9 years of satisfactory service. From Soldier to Chief Soldier – If there is a vacancy after completing 13 years of satisfactory service. There is a vacancy after completing 17 years of satisfactory service from chief soldier to grand soldier. From Maha-Senani to Assistant Rathi- On completion of 20 years of satisfactory service to the vacancy and if recommended by the Promotion Board. From Assistant Rathi to Upper Rathi- On completion of 21 years of satisfactory service in the vacancy and if recommended by the Promotion Board. Observation: –
(a) M. D. And if the committee mentioned in Rule 4 recommends a technical candidate who has obtained a special educational qualification equal to or higher than that or has received post-graduate training, the Commander-in-Chief will submit the name of such a person for the approval of the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Defense for the commission in the rank of acting soldier. But the technician who gets the commission in that rank should not exceed 35 years of age.
(b) Special qualifications will be determined by the Public Service Commission.
(c) The official will send a notification to the Government of Nepal Ministry of Defense from the military base, military secretary department to publish in the gazette that the officer has received the commission, promotion.
