Section 10
Disqualification to be a candidate
(1) The following persons shall not be candidates for civil service posts:-
(a) Those who have not completed 18 years of age in gazetted and unranked posts,
(b) Those who have not completed 21 years of age in gazetted posts,
(c) completed thirty-five years of age in case of male candidates and forty years of age in case of female candidates, but,
(1) Any person under forty years of age may be a candidate for the post of civil service designated as an ex-serviceman or police officer.
(2) In gazetted second and first class open competitions, persons not exceeding forty-five years of age can be candidates.
(3) In the case of permanent employees of the civil service, the limit of candidates will not apply.
(4) Persons with disabilities specified under sub-section (8) of section 7 can be candidates up to the age of forty.
(d) Dismissed from the service so as to be deemed ineligible for future government service,
(e) Non-Nepalese citizens,
(f) Convicted by a court of law on a criminal charge involving moral turpitude.
(2) In the case of female employees who have been serving continuously for at least five years on a temporary appointment in a development project or development project of the Government of Nepal, there will be no age limit to be a candidate in the Public Service Commission advertisement for open competition.
