Section 277
Kirte Likhat Sadde not to be kept or put into practice
(1) No one, knowingly or having reasonable cause to believe that it is a written document, shall dishonestly possess such document with the intention of treating it as if it were a written document.
(2) A person who commits or causes an offense under sub-section (1) shall be imprisoned for up to three years and fined up to thirty thousand rupees.
(3) If someone knowingly or has reasonable cause to believe that it is a written document, brings such a document into circulation, he shall be punished in the same way as if he had committed such a document.
