Rule 83
Maternity leave
: (1) If a female police officer is pregnant, she will get ninety-eight days of maternity leave before or after delivery.
(2) Female police personnel on maternity leave will get full pay, allowances and rations.
(3) Female police personnel who have taken maternity leave according to sub-rule (1) may take unpaid maternity leave for three additional months without being deducted from any leave. While taking such leave, it should be taken consecutively with the leave as per sub-rule (1).
(4) A record of the details of leave as per sub-rules (1) and (3) should be kept.
(5) According to sub-rule (3), the period spent on unpaid leave shall be added to the service period.
