: (1) According to Rule 9, the percentage has been determined and the promotion committee has to fill the position within three months from the date of writing to fill the position by promotion.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in this regulation, for the purpose of filling the vacant posts of Assistant Constable, Constable of Police, Senior Constable of Police and Assistant Inspector of Police by promotion, promotion in accordance with Rule 43 shall be maintained on the basis of the seniority of the vacancy to be filled by three times more potential candidates. The secretariat of the committee should proceed with the promotion process.
(3) According to sub-rule (2), if there is more than three times the number of such police personnel appointed up to the relevant batch and specific date, there will be no hindrance in retaining such police personnel as potential candidates for promotion.
