Section 306
Not to be disrespected
(1) No one should insult anyone.
(2) For the purpose of sub-section (1), if anyone commits the following acts, he shall be deemed to have committed contempt:-
(a) with the intention of offending the honor of another, or knowingly or having reasonable cause to believe that it may be offended, by writing, conduct or shape or sign or publicity or in any other manner, directly or indirectly, discredits such person in the eyes of others of his personal character, conduct, morals or If he commits character assassination in order to raise his reputation, or if he blames others in such a way that his body is in a generally disgusting condition, or if he does not publicize, disseminate or publish such accusations, or if he knowingly sells or distributes anything used as a means of insulting someone,
(b) For making any objection to the deceased with the intention of hurting the feelings of his family or other close relatives knowing that if he were alive at the time of making such objection, (3) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (2), the following shall not be considered as contempt:-
(a) To publish or broadcast true matter relating to any person with evidence and basis for public interest,
(b) To publish in a decent manner with good intentions any matter concerning the conduct of a public servant in the performance of his official duties or his character only so far as can be inferred from such conduct,
(c) Expressing in good faith any opinion as to the conduct of any person relating to the importance of public office or position and his character so far as may be inferred from such conduct,
(d) expressing an opinion in good faith and in a manner of good faith on the subject of a person submitting a matter for public opinion, disputing the merits of such matter or, to that extent, the character of the person making such a statement,
(e) if any person has any right over any other person by law or by contract with him, the right of such person in matters relating to that right;To make a mistake in battle with good intentions,
(f) Investigate any offense in accordance with the law or prosecute him in accordance with the law on such grounds,
(g) To warn someone against another person for his own benefit, for the benefit of a person with his interest or for the benefit of the general public.
(h) To satirize any act, character or conduct of any person or to make any comment with grounds and reasons or to publish or broadcast anything with good intention for public interest, morals or morality.
