Section 261
Not to depreciate or deface currency
(1) No one shall export or import or possess any currency made of metal with the intention of using it as money or with the knowledge that it may be done so as to reduce the weight of currency made of metal or to change the fraction of metal or to make one type of currency appear to be another type of currency.
(2) A person who commits or causes an offense under sub-section (1) shall be imprisoned for up to five years and fined up to fifty thousand rupees.
