Section 175
Not to be married
(1) A married man should not remarry while the marital relationship continues.
(2) No woman shall marry a man knowing that he is married.
(3) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1) or (2), if the husband and wife divide according to the law, the man or the woman may remarry.
(4) A person who commits or causes an offense under sub-section (1) or (2) shall be imprisoned for one to five years and shall be fined from ten thousand rupees to fifty thousand rupees.
(5) The marriage according to sub-section (1) shall automatically be annulled.
(6) Notwithstanding anything written elsewhere in this section, nothing written in this section shall be deemed to affect marriages that took place in accordance with the law in force immediately prior to the coming into force of this Code.
