Rule 194
Constitution of Privileges Committee

(1) According to Article 103 of the Constitution of Nepal, there will be a privilege committee in the House of Representatives. In the Privileges Committee, the Speaker will nominate a maximum of fifteen members in consultation with the Executive Committee. But no minister can be a member of Privileges Committee.
(2) While nominating members of the Privileges Committee, proportional representation will be made so that all political parties are represented, keeping in mind the knowledge, experience and party, gender, caste and regional structure of the members in the meeting.
(3) The Chairman of the Privileges Committee shall be elected by the members of the Committee from among themselves.
(4) The term of office of the chairman and members of the committee shall be for the entire term of the assembly.
(5) The member elected to the position of chairman of the committee shall take the oath of office and secrecy before the Speaker as per Schedule-4.
