7. Features

7.1 Chemicals and equipment purchase tax:

- Required in relation to discounting the customs duty charged for the purchase of chemicals and equipment for biotechnological industries or research institutions on the recommendation of the Biotechnology Coordinating Committee. Arrangements will be made. Biotechnological industry means an industry involved in any of the following activities: 7.1.1 Research and development on the use of living systems and enzymes or biologicals and producing goods from their use. 7.1.2 Hereditary engineering or technologies related to cell, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and tissue technology etc. 7.2 Electricity service is indispensable for the development of biotechnology. Arrangements will be made to subsidize the price. 7.3 The government will make land available to establish organic villages.

7.4 Undertaking capital fund will be established by using the capital market with the joint investment of the government of Nepal and the private sector. 7.5 Nepali citizens working abroad will play an important role in technology transfer and market promotion in this sector, so they will be encouraged to invest their earned foreign currency in this sector. 7.6 Prizes and honors will be arranged to encourage biological engineers and related industries.
