Biotechnology is the act of manipulating an organism or its organism-parts and nature into human-made activities. With the help of this technology, modifying the production method of organic matter, changing its nature in different ways, breeding plants or animals according to needs, orienting various micro-organisms to specific tasks, including changing the genetic structure of various plants and animals in a human-friendly way. 5. Since the focus of this technology is biological material, our country, which is considered to be rich in biological resources, has to assimilate its traditional and modern technology and break new ground in the field of science and technology. To face the current challenges of a developing country like ours, the Biotechnology Policy has been formulated to realize the potentials revealed by Biotechnology 5. Its implementation will help to increase food production through biological technology, develop new methods of health treatment, control environmental pollution and promote various industrial sectors.
