Rule 78
Notice of Adjournment Motion

(1) Subject to this regulation, a motion to postpone the program of the meeting to discuss any matter of urgent public importance may be submitted with the permission of the Speaker. But,
(a) If such a proposal is not in accordance with the rules or if the Speaker rejects it, he can inform the proposing member of the reason why the proposal is not in accordance with the rules or rejected.
(b) If the Speaker deems it necessary to obtain more information regarding the facts mentioned in the motion, he may obtain information from the proposing member or the minister before accepting or rejecting the motion.
(2) The adjournment motion shall be notified to the secretary two hours before the commencement of the meeting of the day on which the adjournment motion is intended to be presented, and one copy of the motion shall be given to the speaker, the minister concerned and the minister of parliamentary affairs.
(3) Not more than one notification regarding the proposal as per sub-rule (2) may be submitted in one meeting.
(4) If more than one member has signed the notice of proposal, the member signing the first serial number shall be deemed to have given the notice.
