In this Act, unless the subject or the context otherwise requires,—
(a) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Council.
(b) "Vice-Chairman" means the Vice-Chairman of the Council.
(c) "District Youth Committee" means District Youth Committee as per section 11.
(d) "Prescribed" or "as prescribed" means prescribed or prescribed in the rules or regulations made under this Act.
(e) "Council" means the National Youth Council established as per Section 3.
(f) "Ministry" means the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
(g) "Youth" means a person aged sixteen to forty years.
(h) "Youth of special community" means youth from conflict-affected, vulnerable, disabled or marginalized minority communities.
(i) "Member" means a member of the Council and the term also refers to the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Member-Secretary of the Council.
(j) "Committee" shall mean the Executive Committee as per Section 8.
