Section 95
Cancellation of license
(1) If an insurance intermediary or other insurance service-provider does not submit an application for license renewal within the period specified in Section 94, his license shall be automatically revoked from the date of expiry of the license period. (2) If any insurance intermediary or other insurance service provider submits a written application to the authority to revoke his license, the authority may revoke such license as prescribed after investigation.
(3) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, the Authority may revoke the license of an insurance intermediary or other insurance service provider in the following cases:-
(a) does any work contrary to this Act or the rules, regulations, guidelines or instructions issued by the authority made under this Act, or
(b) If it is proved that any act has been committed against the rights and interests of the insured.
(4) Before revoking the license in accordance with sub-section (3), the authority shall give a reasonable opportunity to the relevant insurance intermediary or other insurance service provider to submit their explanation.
