Section 64
Insurance fee
: (1) The insurer shall calculate the insurance fee based on the insurance rate determined by the authority.
(2) An insurer shall not issue a policy without charging the full premium. (3) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (2), if a lump sum is paid for any reason: In the event that the payment period is not specified, the insurance fee will be deemed to have been received for issuing an insurance policy under the guarantee of any bank or government of Nepal. But insurance cannot be issued on bank guarantee for a period longer than 30 days.
(4) Notwithstanding anything written elsewhere in this section, in the case of life insurance in installments and in certain specified non-life insurance, partial. There will be no hindrance in issuing the insurance policy after receiving the payment.
(5) If the insurer does not receive the insurance fee on time from the person or organization that is responsible for collecting the insurance fee and paying it to the insurer, the insurer shall inform the insured about the same.
(6) Other arrangements related to insurance rates and insurance fees shall be as prescribed by the authority.
