Section 139
Proceedings
(1) The authority shall give a written notice to the relevant insurer, insurance intermediary or other insurance service provider or person before taking regulatory action in accordance with section 134 or imposing a penalty in accordance with section 138, giving seven days to submit their explanation regarding the proposed action or penalty.
(2) Within seven days from the date of receipt of the written notice in accordance with sub-section (1), the concerned insurer, insurance intermediary or any person shall submit their explanation in writing to the authority.
(3) If the explanation submitted according to sub-section (2) is satisfactory, the authority may amend or cancel such action or penalty. (4) Other procedures to be followed by the Authority in taking action or imposing fines in accordance with this Act shall be as determined by the Authority.
