Section 257
Counterfeit currency should not be circulated
(1) No person shall buy or sell, withdraw or import, transact, bring into circulation or trade or possess such currency knowingly that it is a counterfeit currency. (2) A person who commits or causes an offense under sub-section (1) shall be imprisoned for up to seven years and fined up to seventy thousand rupees.
