Section 249
Not to be cheated:

(1) No one shall commit or cause fraud.
(2) For the purpose of sub-section (1), if any person, for the purpose of sub-section (1), commits any kind of loss, loss or damage to such person or any other person, dishonestly causes any kind of loss, damage or damage to such person or any other person by not doing so or by lying, lying or in any other way deceiving or preventing from doing any act. If you receive any benefit for someone else, it will be considered as embezzlement. (3) A person who commits an offense under sub-section (1) shall be punished as follows:-
(a) Imprisonment for up to ten years and fine up to one lakh rupees for defrauding the Government of Nepal or any entity wholly or mostly owned or controlled by the Government of Nepal, except in cases of corruption,
(b) Imprisonment for up to five years and fine up to fifty thousand rupees, if he fakes his name, rank, title, qualification,
(c) In case of fraud in any other way except as mentioned in clause (a) or (b), imprisonment up to seven years and fine up to seventy thousand rupees.
(4) For defrauding children, unaccompanied persons, helpless, illiterate persons or persons over seventy-five years of age, the punishment written in sub-section (3) shall be punishable with imprisonment up to one year.
