Section 40
Salary, allowances, holiday expenses and other benefits
(1) From the day of resuming his post, the employee will get the same salary as the employees of the same level in other government services of the Government of Nepal.
(2) Except in the cases mentioned in Sections 82 and 83, after completing one year of service, the employee will get a salary increment not less than one day's salary of the starting scale of the post in which he is employed. The number of increments to be received in this way will be the same as that of civil service employees. As the withheld salary increase is released, the concerned authority should state in writing the date from which the salary increase will be received. However, the total amount of the annual salary increase to be received by the employee according to this sub-section shall not exceed the amount specified by the Government of Nepal for the respective category of civil service.
(3) During the session or meeting of the Federal Parliament and the meeting of the committee, the officials or employees involved in the work may be given the amount as determined by the committee as additional convenience and if they have to work longer hours, the committee may give other allowances including lunch, food and overtime as determined by the committee. > (4) Allowances and other benefits of employees will be as determined by the committee.
(5) Officials or employees assigned to any work of the Federal Parliament may be given an additional amount as determined by the committee in addition to the daily allowance and visiting allowance received by him according to the prevailing law.
(6) The employee will receive an amount equal to one month's salary for the festival celebrated according to their religion, culture and tradition every year as festival expenses. This amount can be paid by the employee once in a financial year on the occasion of the main festival celebrated according to their religion, culture and tradition.
(7) Retired employees who are entitled to pension will receive an amount equal to one month's pension as festival expenses.
(8) Employees will receive an amount equal to one month's salary as an incentive after the budget is passed by the Federal Parliament every year. Explanation: For the purposes of this sub-section, "employee" means an employee employed in the Secretariat for the work of the Federal Parliament;
(9) Provisions related to medical expenses, disability benefits, disability benefits, extraordinary family pensions and gratuities, awards, educational allowances, housing allowances, children's allowances, child care allowances and other facilities shall be as prescribed.
