Section 49
gratuity

(1) If an employee who has served for five years or more but has not reached the retirement age, retires, or resigns from the service of the Federal Parliament by accepting his resignation, or is removed from office without being disqualified for future service in the Federal Parliament or other government service, he shall receive the following gratuity:-
(a) Half a month's last pay for each year of service to an employee who has served for ten years in excess of five years,
(b) one month's last pay for every year of service to an employee who has served for fifteen years in excess of ten years,
(c) Employees who have served more than fifteen years and less than twenty years, one and a half month's last salary for each year of service.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), if it is proved that citizenship, qualification or age has been falsified for the purpose of remaining in the Federal Parliament service, such employee will not be given gratuity and will also be punished according to the prevailing law for falsification.
