This Act unless the subject or context requires otherwise, -

(a) "University" means the Nepal Sanskrit University under this Act.

(b) "Assembly" means the University Assembly as per section 4. c) "Executive Council" shall mean the Executive Council as per Section 6.

(d) "Academic Council" shall mean the Academic Council as per Section 8.

(d1) “Service Commission” means section 9A. (e) "Examination Committee" means the Examination Committee as per Section 26.

left: 30px;">(f) "Central Office" means the collective form of the offices of Vice-Chancellor, Principal and Registrar.

(g) "Vidyapith" means It shall mean a university according to this Act.

(h) "Principal" shall mean the head of the university.

(i) "Teacher" means professors, associate professors, deputy professors and assistant professors who provide education in the university and the term also refers to the instructors at different levels of the university and the person designated as a teacher in the rules made under this Act.

(j) “Prescribed” or “as prescribed” means prescribed or prescribed in the rules made under this Act.
