Section 111
Do not pollute water
(1) No one shall contaminate the public drinking water or the source of drinking water in such a way as to make it unfit for drinking or pollute the water used for any purpose other than drinking in such a way that it should not be used for such purpose.
(2) A person who commits or causes an offense under sub-section (1) shall be punished as follows:-
(a) A person who pollutes or causes pollution of drinking water or water source, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or with fine which may extend to thirty thousand rupees or with both,
(b) A person who pollutes or causes to pollute water used for other purposes shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with a fine which may extend to five thousand rupees or with both.
