Section 24C
Division of geographic area
(1) When awarding the points of experience of working in different geographical areas to the civil servants, the different geographical areas of the country are divided into four categories “A”, “B”, “C” and “D” respectively and sixteen for the experience of working in one or more of them in the following positions. Marks will be given as follows without increasing the marks:-
(a) In gazetted third and second class posts,-
(1) At the rate of 4.00 marks for each year of service in category “A”,
(2) At the rate of 3.25 points for each year of service in category “B”,
(3) At the rate of 2.50 marks for each year of service in “C” category,
(4) At the rate of 2.00 marks for each year of service in “D” category.
(b) In gazetted first class posts,–
(1) At the rate of 4.00 marks for each year of service in category “A”,
(2) At the rate of 3.25 points for each year of service in category “B”,
(3) At the rate of 2.50 marks for each year of service in “C” category,
(4) At the rate of 1.50 marks for each year of service in category “D”. (c) In gazetted third and second class posts,-
(1) At the rate of 4.00 marks for each year of service in category “A”,
(2) At the rate of 3.25 points for each year of service in category “B”,
(3) At the rate of 2.50 marks for each year of service in “C” category,
(4) At the rate of 1.25 points for each year of service in “D” category.
(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), marks obtained by any employee for geographical area at the time of commencement of this section shall not be reduced.
(3) For the purpose of sub-section (1), the details of the various geographical areas shall be as prescribed.
(4) In a geographical area, marks will not be given without attending for at least two hundred and thirty three days. For a period of more than two hundred and thirty-three days, the rate of Damasahi will be given in the same geographical area and for a shorter period in any geographical area, marks like "D" will be given. The points earned for working in the geographical area will be in the category in which the promotion is to be doneIt will be counted only if obtained in a post below one category.
(5) Employees working in Nepali diplomatic missions abroad or any other office will be given half of the marks specified for category "D" and civil servants going to work on study leave and foreign training.
