Section 180
Punishment if the person intended to kill does not die
Notwithstanding what is written in section 177, 178 and 179, when someone does an act with the intention of killing someone or knowing or having reason to believe that a person may die, such person does not die. If the other person dies, he will be punished as per section 177, 178 and 179 according to the situation.
