Rule 168
Formation of Committee of Privileges

(1) A Privileges Committee shall be formed if a question of privilege arises in the National Assembly and it is necessary to investigate it. In the Privileges Committee, the Chairman will nominate a maximum of seven members in consultation with the Working Arrangements Consultative Committee. However, no minister shall be allowed to be a member of the Privileges Committee. (2) When nominating the members of the Privileges Committee, an inclusive and proportional representation will be made, taking into account the knowledge, experience and party, gender, ethnic and regional structure of the members in the meeting, so that the political parties are represented. (3) The members of the committee The Chairman of the Committee of Privileges shall be elected from among themselves. (4) The members elected to the position of Chairman of the Committee shall take the oath of office and secrecy before the Chairman in the format as per Schedule-4.
