Rule 208
Term

(1) The term of office of the members of the National Assembly shall be six years. The term of office of one-third of the members of the National Assembly shall expire every two years. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (1), for the first time, the term of office of nineteen members shall be two years, the other twenty members shall be four years and the remaining twenty members shall be six years. Explanation:- For the purpose of this paragraph, "Gola practice" means the term of office of one-third of the members of the National Assembly for the first time is two years, the other one-third is four years and the remaining one-third is six years in accordance with the restrictive phrase of sub-section (3) of Article 86 of the Constitution of Nepal. It means the method or process related to the choice to be adopted to maintain.
