Section 30
Insurance business should be started
(1) The insurer shall start the insurance business as mentioned in the license within six months after receiving the license. (2) If the insurer is unable to start insurance business within the period as per sub-section (1), it may apply to the authority for an extension of the period before the expiry of the period, after explaining the proper basis and reason.
(3) The authority may extend the period for six months if it is found that the application received in accordance with sub-section (2) is reasonable.
(4) The insurer shall commence insurance business within the period of extension as per sub-section (3). The information should be given to the authority.
(5) If the insurance business is not started within the period mentioned in sub-section (3), the authority may cancel the license of such insurer.
