Rule 125

(1) (The Ministry may designate any part of the national forest as a forest research plot for carrying out any research related to forestry and allow the Forest Research and Training Center to use such forest area for its conservation and management.
(2) Conservation and management of the forest area given for use in accordance with sub-rule (1) shall be coordinated with the concerned Division Forest Office.
(3) The Ministry may allow any part of the national forest to be used by a native university for the purpose of conducting studies related to forestry. If the forest area allowed to be used in this way is managed by a consumer group, the consent of such consumer group should be obtained.
(4) The study and research in the forest area given for use according to sub-rule (3) and the protection and management of that area shall be done in coordination with the Division Forest: Office and the Forest Research and Training Center.
(5) If it is necessary to cut trees in the forest area as per sub-rule (1) or (3) for research purposes, the Ministry may grant permission for tree cutting based on the approved research proposal.
(6) According to sub-rule (5), the details of the felled trees shall be given to the Division Forest Office and the Division Forest Office shall manage them in accordance with the Act and this regulation and deposit the amount received into the revenue.
